Stay at The Peak Centre – Group Lodging & Facilities in the Peak District

Accommodation for 46 people in two wings

The Peak Centre at Champion House offers comfortable, warm and welcoming accommodation maintained to a high standard. The group accommodation is offered in two wings, John Champion’s Barn and Grindslow Wing. You have exclusive use of your part of the Centre if you are a small group and of the whole Centre, including the Broadlee Wing, if you are a large group (maximum 60). Accessibility

We’re committed to ensuring all guests feel welcome and accommodated. 

  • John Champion’s Barn includes a platform lift, accessible toilet/shower, and (with advance notice) bedrooms that can be adjusted to allow the use of a hoist (supplied by the group). 
  • Grindslow Wing’s games area can be accessed via an installable ramp. 
  • Meeting and Craft Rooms are accessible via external entry.

John Champion's Barn

  • Sleeps up to 30 guests (26 beds)
  • Cosy lounge with open fire and mezzanine “Hayloft” space
  • Self-catering kitchen and dining area
  • Seven bedrooms in total (including leader rooms with en-suite)
  • Adaptable for accessibility needs on request

Grindslow Wing

  • Sleeps up to 25 guests (20 beds)
  • Open-plan kitchen and dining area
  • Lounge space with games, books, and DVDs
  • Six bedrooms, including leader rooms with en-suite
  • Ramp access to the games area is available on request

Broadlee

The Broadlee Wing is typically shared between John Champion’s Barn and Grindslow Wing. However, groups who book the entire centre will enjoy exclusive use of all Broadlee facilities and shared amenities across the site.

Catering Options

Self-cater, bring in help or let someone else handle it.

You can use our fully equipped kitchens, but many groups choose to book Jo’s Pantry, a trusted local catering service run by Jo Elliott since 1992.
She offers everything from packed lunches to full-board catering tailored to your group’s age, dietary needs, and length of stay.

Connectivity

We know peace and quiet are important – but staying connected matters too.

  • Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the centre
  • An EE mobile signal is generally available in the valley
  • There’s a phone in the entrance hall for incoming and emergency calls

Jo's Pantry

Jo Elliott lives in the Hope Valley and has been running Jo’s Pantry since 1992. She can offer a range of options to suit the age and individual requirements of the group, from packed lunches on one day to full catering for a week, all at very reasonable prices. Supermarket Deliveries

if you prefer supermarket deliveries, Asda, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury’s and Tesco all deliver to Edale. Just ensure your slot is after your arrival time, and use 01433 670277 as the contact number.
