Retreats & Reflection in the Peak District
Retreats & Reflection in the Peak District
The Peak Centre is more than just a place to stay – it’s a peaceful, purpose-built space for rest, reconnection, and renewal. Alongside our activity-based residentials for schools and church youth groups, we also host Primary School Retreat Days: immersive, curriculum-linked days that help pupils pause, reflect, and explore “My Place in God’s World.” Surrounded by the beauty of the Edale Valley and the vast skies of the Peak District National Park, our setting creates the perfect environment for reflection, spiritual growth, and shared community experiences.

Primary School Retreat Days – A Dedicated Day of Reflection & Discovery
Available to Church of England primary schools across Derby Diocese and beyond, our Primary Retreat Days offer a gentle, purposefully structured break from the pace of everyday school life. Designed especially for Year 6 pupils (and occasionally Year 5), each retreat day invites children to:
- Look in at themselves
- Look out at others and the wider world
- Explore what it means to be a spiritual being
Through carousel activities, guided relaxation, teamwork challenges, creative reflection, singing, and interactive prayer stations, pupils deepen their understanding of themselves and their place in God’s world. The day ends with a calm and meaningful time of worship and shared reflection in our woodland cabin, The Fold.
These retreat days support key PHSE themes including wellbeing, teamwork, respect, self-worth, diversity, and spirituality, all within our safe and nurturing Christian environment.
